Nov 03, 2021
According to the Korean media in September, Apple is testing the micro OLED display with PPI up to 3000 for its VR device.
Recently, foreign media news shows that Apple will release its first Mr hybrid reality headset next year, using micro LED display.
According to foreign media reports, Apple analyst Guo mingpeng revealed that Apple will release MR head display device in 2022, which has both AR and VR scene functions and can bring high-end immersive experience, with a price of about $1000-3000.

In terms of technology and specifications, MR head display equipment will be equipped with 2 high-resolution micro LED displays and 15 camera modules, support Wi Fi 6e, have higher bandwidth and lower delay, and perform better in signal transmission speed and power consumption.
It was pointed out that the limitation of the existing VR equipment is that the equipment needs to be connected through wires due to the large amount of data. Apple's MR device will support Wi Fi 6e technology without wire connection, which can reduce the use of computers or other devices and enhance the wireless experience.
It is worth noting that oculus of Facebook (renamed meta) also released a wireless connected VR head display device oculus air link in Q2 this year.
It's said that the latest specification of Wi Fi is the basic requirement of head mounted display, which aims to improve the wireless experience.
Not only apple, but also products released by Facebook and Sony in 2022 will support Wi Fi 6 / 6e. The release time of new products of the three brands is expected to be the second half of 2022, Q4 of 2022 and Q2 of 2022 respectively.
The report also points out that apple is carrying out at least two ar projects, one is the AR head display device to be released by the end of 2022, and the other is the AR smart glasses released later. According to the disclosure, the AR smart glasses under development are more fashionable and compact, and are expected to be released in 2023.
