1 Hazard of electrostatic discharge (ESD)
ESD(electrostatic discharge) often occurs in any link in the process of LED display production, transportation, installation and so on. Due to the non-standard operation, the product is broken down by static electricity, causing sudden damage and potential damage of LED display products.
Sudden damage reduces product yield and increases enterprise cost. Sudden-damage refers to: the voltage between two or more pins of an LED product component exceeds the breakdown strength of the component medium, resulting in serious damage to the component and loss of function. This damage can usually be found in the quality inspection during the production process and will not directly affect the use of customers. However, if the manufacturer is subjected to static interference for a long time, the production cost will be increased.
Potential damage affects the service life of the product and causes losses to customers. The potential damage accounts for more than 90% of the damage caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD), and the local heating of the lamp or IC caused by the pulse energy of static electricity can not be found in the detection of breakdown of the lamp and IC. However, it makes the product become unstable, and the phenomenon of dead light appears one after another in the subsequent use of customers, which greatly affects the service life of LED display screen and causes losses to customers.
2 Prevention of electrostatic discharge (ESD)
In order to minimize the harm of static electricity to LED displays, manufacturers, distributors and customers need to strictly implement ESD20.20 standard during production, transportation and use.
In production, the static electricity is directly discharged to the earth through the wire connection, which is the most direct and effective anti-static measure.
3 Prevention of static electricity at production end: provide training on electrostatic knowledge and related technology to the personnel who use electrostatic sensitive circuits.
In the production process, workers are required to wear a grounding electrostatic bracelet. Especially in the cutting foot, plug-in, debugging and post-welding process, and make a good monitoring, quality personnel must do at least every two hours electrostatic test bracelet, make a good test record.
When welding, the electric iron should be used as far as possible anti-static low voltage constant temperature iron, and maintain a good grounding. During the assembly process, use a low voltage DC electric driver (commonly known as a batch) with a ground wire whenever possible. Ensure the effective grounding of pull table, glue filling table and aging frame. The production environment should be equipped with copper wire grounding, such as floor, wall, and ceiling used in some occasions. Antistatic materials should be used. During daily operation, LED display products should always be stored in anti-static bags or containers.
Prevention of static electricity at the transport terminal: during transport, the transport vehicle should be kept grounded and the box or other equipment should have conductive wheels or towing connection. When contacting LED products, keep correct handling method, do not directly touch PCB board and the above electronic components. Prevention of static electricity at customer end: when installing the screen body, customers and engineers should strictly follow the anti-static operation, and do not directly contact the core electronic components of the product without protective measures.
